For three hundred years after, Christians hid that cross. It was an execution device, and wearing one where the wrong person could see it cost you everything. Then in 313 the Edict of Milan changed the rules, and for the first time a man could wear it in the open.
By the Middle Ages it was going into battle. Crusaders wore it over armor. Pilgrims wore it on roads that took years to walk. Somewhere along the way it stopped being a mark of death and became a mark of who you belonged to.

PRODUCTION
Each piece is crafted in small batches, from material sourcing to final assembly. Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days. We work with small suppliers who prioritize quality over speed, and each batch goes through an internal review before it's approved for packaging.
INSPECTION
Before packaging, every piece is individually checked by hand. We verify the finish, the clasp, and every component. If something isn't right, a clasp that's stiff or a bead that's off-center, we set it aside and replace it. We'd rather take an extra day than ship something we're not proud of.
SHIPPING
All orders ship free. No minimum required. Estimated delivery: 7 to 15 business days from the date your order ships. You'll receive a tracking number by email within 3 business days of placing your order.
Shipping Protection
For $1.99, CathoGold Shipping Protection covers your order against loss, theft, or damage in transit.
Orders with Shipping Protection that don't arrive as expected are eligible for a free replacement 15 days after the ship date, with no action required on your part.
Shipping Protection is added to your order by default. We highly recommend keeping it on.

Note: If you opt out and your order doesn't arrive, we'll still work to help you. However, the eligibility time frame for unprotected orders is 25 days after the ship date, and the replacement process will require some action on your part.

DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE
If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, email us at support@cathogold.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. In that case, sending you a replacement of the same piece, or a different piece of your choice as a replacement, is completely free of charge. No return shipment, no fees, nothing to pay.
CHANGED YOUR MIND
Picked the wrong piece, or simply changed your mind? The easiest solution: we can send you a different piece from our catalog as an exchange, completely free of charge. Just email us within 30 days of delivery and tell us which piece you would rather have.
If you prefer a refund instead, you can return any unworn piece in its original condition, gift box included, within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the product price.
Our pieces are crafted at our workshops in Europe and Asia, and we do not operate a return facility in the United States. Returns are international shipments, and return shipping and any customs fees are the customer's responsibility.

No. Green skin comes from plating over copper or brass. The base here is titanium steel, which does not react with skin, and the 18K gold sits on top of it. It is hypoallergenic, so it works even if other chains have bothered you.

Yes, and we built it for that. The chain, the clasp and the crucifix are all waterproof and sweat-proof. You do not need to take it off for water, the gym or work.
