A Poisoned Cup That Shattered. A Story Kept for 1,500 Years.
Nearly 1,500 years ago, a community of monks asked Saint Benedict to become their abbot. His rule was too strict for some of them, and they decided to get rid of him. At dinner, they handed him a cup of poisoned wine.
Before he drank, Benedict made the sign of the cross over the cup, and it shattered in his hands. Years later, a jealous priest sent him a loaf of poisoned bread. A raven that came to him every day carried it away.
Look closely at his medal and you'll find both: the cup on one side of him, the raven on the other. Catholics have worn it for centuries, and many families still hang it above their front door.

NATURAL STONE
Every tiger's eye chip is cut from natural stone, so the color and the golden bands vary a little from piece to piece. No two strands are exactly alike.

PRODUCTION
Each piece is crafted in small batches, from material sourcing to final assembly. Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days. We work with small suppliers who prioritize quality over speed, and each batch goes through an internal review before it's approved for packaging.
INSPECTION
Before packaging, every piece is individually checked by hand. We verify the finish, the clasp, and every component. If something isn't right, a clasp that's stiff or a bead that's off-center, we set it aside and replace it. We'd rather take an extra day than ship something we're not proud of.
SHIPPING
All orders ship free. No minimum required. Estimated delivery: 7 to 15 business days from the date your order ships. You'll receive a tracking number by email within 3 business days of placing your order.
Shipping Protection
For $1.99, CathoGold Shipping Protection covers your order against loss, theft, or damage in transit.
Orders with Shipping Protection that don't arrive as expected are eligible for a free replacement 15 days after the ship date, with no action required on your part.
Shipping Protection is added to your order by default. We highly recommend keeping it on.
To opt out, remove it from your cart before checkout.
Note: If you opt out and your order doesn't arrive, we'll still work to help you. However, the eligibility time frame for unprotected orders is 25 days after the ship date, and the replacement process will require some action on your part.

DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE
If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, email us at support@cathogold.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. In that case, sending you a replacement of the same piece, or a different piece of your choice as a replacement, is completely free of charge. No return shipment, no fees, nothing to pay.
CHANGED YOUR MIND
Picked the wrong piece, or simply changed your mind? The easiest solution: we can send you a different piece from our catalog as an exchange, completely free of charge. Just email us within 30 days of delivery and tell us which piece you would rather have.
If you prefer a refund instead, you can return any unworn piece in its original condition, gift box included, within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the product price.
Our pieces are crafted at our workshops in Europe and Asia, and we do not operate a return facility in the United States. Returns are international shipments, and return shipping and any customs fees are the customer's responsibility.

No. Green skin comes from cheap plating over copper or brass reacting with sweat. The medal is 18K gold plated titanium steel, a hypoallergenic base that doesn't react with skin, and the stones are natural tiger's eye.

Can I wear it in water?
Yes, for everyday life. The gold plated medal is water and sweat resistant, and tiger's eye is a natural stone that water doesn't harm. Washing your hands, getting caught in the rain, a hot summer day: it's made for all of it.
We'd still take it off for the pool, the ocean, and the hot tub. Chlorine and salt are hard on any stone strand over time, and we want it to look this way for years.
Will it break if I wear it every day?
We made it for exactly that. The stones are strung tightly, the medal and the cross are attached with gold plated rings, and the lobster clasp is made to hold.
